AFA was founded by Peter M.O. Young and John Lawless, with a view to servicing the alternative investment funds industry through its focus on state-of-the-art technology, along with highly qualified staff, to deliver customized reports to Fund Managers and their clients.
Peter M.O. Young, CPA
President & Chief Operating Officer
Peter Young is the President and founder of Advanced Fund Administration. Prior to establishing AFA, he was the Executive Vice President and Principal Operating Officer for Citi Hedge Fund Services (Cayman), Ltd. (formerly, BISYS Hedge Fund Services (Cayman) Limited) with responsibility for its Cayman Islands operation. Prior to its acquisition by BISYS, Mr. Young was the Managing Partner and CEO of Rothstein Kass & Company's Cayman Islands office, which included Rothstein, Kass & Company (Cayman) Certified Public Accountants and RK Consulting (Cayman) Ltd. Mutual Fund Administrators respectively.
During his tenure as managing partner of Rothstein Kass & partner of Rothstein Kass & Company's Cayman Islands office, Mr. Young oversaw the audit and administration of over 450 hedge funds with over $45 billion in assets under management.
He has extensive experience serving as a director for some of the largest hedge fund complexes globally and other investment companies in the industry. Mr. Young’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association, and the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants. He holds a B.S. degree in accounting a B.B.A. degree in business administration, and a Certificate in Executive MBA as well as being a Certified Public Accountant.
John Lawless, Attorney-at-Law
General Counsel & Executive Vice President
John Lawless is an attorney with 14 years experience working in the European, Offshore and US markets. Prior to co-founding AFA, John served as Senior Vice-President & Division Counsel for BISYS Alternative Investment Services business, with legal responsibility for 500 clients with 1,500 funds comprising assets under management in excess of $250 billion. John worked in the firm's Bermuda and New York offices.
John was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law to the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands in 1997, prior to which he practiced law in Ireland following his admission to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland in 1995. John holds a First Class Honours Degree in law (B.C.L) from University College, Cork, Ireland.
Ebrima Sidibeh,
Fund Accounting Manager
Ebrima M. Sidibeh, FCCA (UK), is a member of United Kingdom (UK) Society of Certified Accountants, attaining his Fellowship Membership in 1988 and has held various accounting positions in Europe, Africa and the U.S.A. Ebrima is currently the Fund Accounting Manager for Advanced Fund Administration in the Cayman Islands. With over ten years experience in the financial services sector, working for firms such as Merrill Lynch & CitiGroup, Ebrima’s extensive knowledge of portfolio accounting and securities is a true value-add to AFA’s fund accounting department.
Jacqueline Thomas,
Office Manager & Fund Administration Officer
Jacqueline Thomas obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree (B.Sc) in Accounting and Business Administration in 1994 from the International College of the Cayman Islands. Jacqueline has extensive knowledge and experience in both accounting and administration. Prior to joining Advanced Fund Administration (Cayman) Ltd., Ms. Thomas served as the Chief Office Administrator of Citi Hedge Fund Services (Cayman), Ltd., with responsibility for all administrative, accounting and human resources functions.
Carmen McField,
Fund Administrator and Compliance Officer
Carmen McField is AFA’s MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) and works in the investor services side of the firm. Prior to joining AFA upon its founding in December 2007, Carmen worked in the offshore financial services industry for sixteen years including at Walkers SPV administering over eighty companies. Carmen has also worked for Citco Fund Services as a senior administrator, Julius Baer Bank and Marsh Captive Insurance Company.

Joseph A. Levato, B.S., M.B.A.
Head of North American Operations & Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining Advanced Fund Administration LLC in 2009, Mr. Levato spent the past 5 years serving as Global Chief Financial Officer for Citi Hedge Fund and Private Equity Services (formerly BISYS Alternative Investment Services), with financial responsibility for North America, Europe, Asia, and Caribbean operations with $350 Billion in assets under administration. Joseph was also a member of the BISYS Executive Management Committee.
Before joining BISYS in 2005, Joseph was Vice President, Planning & Analysis at Marsh McLennan, specializing in strategic planning and analysis for the Marsh Insurance Brokerage business and spent several years with Revlon Cosmetics as Vice President and Group Controller. Mr. Levato graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1988 with B.S. degrees in Accounting and Finance, and received his MBA in Corporate Finance from Fordham University in 1996.
Adam Alesandro,
Vice President Product Development & Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Alesandro worked for VPM (Visual Portfolio Manager), the accounting platform that AFA uses for Multi-Strategy Funds, for over four years, during which time the company more than doubled its client base and was acquired by SunGard Data Systems, Inc. Adam’s primary responsibilities ranged from software implementation, consultancy work and support, to custom development and product management. Adam played a significant role as a member of the VPM Sales Team, and was responsible for many new client engagements.
Having spent a year working in a dual role of operations and software development for an Ultra High-Net-Worth Hedge Fund, with oversight of day-to-day treasury management, synthetic operations and the design and implementation of many software initiatives, Adam joined AFA as VP of Sales and Marketing with a primary focus on AFA’s suite of technology solutions for Funds.
